PSU - Heaters
Gas powered heaters are a great way to get your pool up to the desired temperature, along with holding there. Larger heaters will take your water to the desired temperature quicker, however smaller heaters can maintain your water temperature just fine.
Please contact your plumber or local utility to find out if your gas meter is big enough to handle the heater. The additional BTU requirements of the pool heater might require you to increase your gas meter.
The best way to heat your pool and save money, is to keep your solar cover on as much as possible. That will decrease evaporation (75% of all heat loss) and utilize the suns rays to heat the water.
250,000 BTU heaters are standard for 32' long pools.
300,000 BTU heaters are generally used for quicker heat-ups for pools up to 40' long, but the 250,000 BTU heater will work just as good for maintaining temperatures.
Pentair Heaters:
Pentair pool heaters can help you get more enjoyment out of your pool or spa by allowing you to spend more time in it.
Today's heaters from Pentair make extending your pool season, adding to your comfort, and maximizing your backyard enjoyment a surprisingly affordable addition. They heat up fast. They are economical to run. And they're built to last for many years.
While we love the Pentair MasterTemp heaters, we dislike the use of Pentair's Mini-Max heaters. They have some major design flaws.
